• Connect with local African pastors:

  Some U.S. guests will have the opportunity to join local pastors over the weekend, fostering fellowship and shared ministry experiences.

  Includes meals, accommodation, ground transport, and activities including safaris or hunting guides.

Shikwaru Lodge is a serene retreat nestled in the foothills of South Africa's picturesque Waterberg region. This expansive game farm offers visitors unparalleled exclusivity and privacy. The lodge is home to over 20 species of exceptional African mammals, as well as numerous bird and reptile species, providing a rich and immersive wildlife experience. Guests can enjoy a variety of activities, including bush walks, game drives, swimming, and putt-putt, all set against the backdrop of the magnificent African bushveld.

• So this is more than just a retreat or a safari trip! 
  • Visit and support local churches or outreach organizations.
  • Participate in a soul-care leadership retreat, right alongside local African leaders. 
  • Help fund local ministry to those in need through your registration.
  • Encourage hard-working local pastors and leaders through your friendship and presence. 
  • Your registration helps fund scholarships for the local pastors to be part of the retreat.
  • Pastors - please consider making this trip part of your missions budget. There will be opportunities to connect with some potential missions partners through this trip. You may also have the chance to preach that Sunday if you'd like to.

• No experience is necessary for any of the activities and equipment is provided.

• To honor our local hosts, some stops on this trip will not be suitable for drinking alcohol if that is something you normally enjoy.
• Your registration covers meals, accommodation, ground transport, hunting and activities. Excludes air travel, tips, personal shopping, additional trophy fees, taxidermy and shipping.

• Hunters: You do not have to have a hunting license to participate at Shikwaru. Rifle experience is beneficial but not required. Bow opportunities also exist.

• Further detail will be provided, but you'll want flights arriving in Johannesburg, South Africa (JNB) on Monday of your retreat start. Those departing the US will depart the evening before on Sunday.
• Most return flights will be booked to depart the Monday after your retreat in the evening. Options exist to extend your stay a day or two for local ministry but need to be coordinated the Barnabas team.
• We'll also get you more information on how to pack, who else is coming, and more as the retreat gets closer. 
• Cancellation policy - We will be making plans & bookings based on registrations. So please honor that investment by not taking your commitment to be there lightly. We all have busy lives and ministry challenges that come up, so short of an absolute emergency let’s make sure our yes is yes. A $500 fee per person will be deducted from refunds requested at least 30 days before the event. Within 30 days of the trip, however, no refunds will be given other than under extraordinary circumstances.
